COFFEY PROJECTS ENGAGED AS PROJECT MANAGERS
FOR THE CENTRAL BANK OF
The Central bank
of
In commissioning this
key project, His Excellency, Hamood Sangour Al Zadjal the Executive President of
the CBO stated that emergency preparedness is an integral part of The Central
Bank’s enterprise-wide risk management initiative and given the Bank’s role, as
a regulator for the banking sector, it had to set an example to the banking
sector on the importance and need for emergency preparedness.
He added that the
Central Bank’s new building is being planned to be an office centre with a
complete state-of-the-art data processing and business continuity facility for
the CBO and other external users. Part of the building is intended for
practitioners within the banking and finance community.
The building
structure will be so designed and constructed that it can be scaled up for
future requirements. The technology selection, operating and service
requirements for the data processing and business continuity facility will require
a highly specialised approach. The security system, vault technology and
design, access control and building management system will also require highly
specialised designs, but Coffey Projects is not at all daunted by this. “We have project managed some of the world’s
largest and most advanced facilities of this type in both Australia and South
Africa” said Ian Cameron, MD of Coffey Projects Middle East and newly appointed
General Manager of Coffey Projects Oman who will provide the actual project management
service for this contract. “As project managers we will bring our considerable
knowledge and expertise to the CBO’s team to assist them towards a successful
delivery of this prestigious and strategically important project.”
Hamood Al Hashmi, Vice-Chairman of the Al Dar Group said “Coffey
bring an enormous range of global experience and specialist management skills
and systems that will be of great advantage to not only the Central Bank, but
to Oman’s strategic development plans and its economic growth generally.”
