The Central Bank of Oman would like to recruit Omani citizens to fill in the following vacant positions:

1-Executive Coordinator
(Position Reference No. HRMD/PO/2/2008)

The candidate should have a recognized secretarial qualification, such as
NVQ level 3, preferably with a Bachelors degree, as well as a minimum of three years of experience (five years desirable) in a similar position, with an excellent track record.

The candidate should be highly competent at Microsoft office applications, coordination, business correspondence as well as interpersonal communication skills, befitting the status and image of the office.

The compensation will be based on the qualification, experience and competence level of the candidate.

2-“Assistant Bank Examiner” for the “Banking Surveillance Department”

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will be involved in carrying out the off-site monitoring of banks’ performance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Banking, Finance, or Accountancy.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English languages (spoken & written).
• Knowledge in Banking, Finance, and I.T.
• Analytical and communication abilities.
• Excellent report writing skills.

3-Senior Banking Officer (Commercial Banking)

for the Banking Development Department
(Position Reference No.: HRMD/BDD/1/2008)


Major Job Responsibilities:

• Participating in the formulation and development of policies and rules for regulating banks in commercial banking.
• Providing assistance and advice in all aspects relating to regulatory and supervisory responsibilities of banks as well as for the development of financial sector.
• Providing training, mentoring and other guidance services to the departmental staff in their competence development as well as in discharging their responsibilities effectively.
Qualifications Required:
A postgraduate degree in Economics, Commerce, or Professional qualification in Accounting or Finance, preferably with banking related qualification from accredited institutions.

Experience Required:
• 15 years of relevant experience in the banking sector with focus on regulatory / supervisory issues.
• Experience in and exposure to areas of Investment Banking and Finance & Leasing Companies will be an advantage.

Major Competencies Required :

• Preferably to be bi-lingual (
Arabic & English)
• Keeps abreast of development in the economic, accounting, and legal aspects relating to the commercial banking.
• Good conceptual, analytical, liaisoning, communication, interpersonal, and I.T. skills.
